Holocaust Day Britain Boycott By Muslim Council

The Muslim Councel of Britain boycotted yesterday's national Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration in protest at the Israeli offensive in Gaza this month. The desision not to send representatives from the umbrella body, which represents 500 Muslim organisations in Britain, was made at an MCB committee meeting last week.
The committee overwhelmingly ruled out attendance at events marking the Holocaust due to take place over the next few days, but the decision has not been officially announced. The MCB believes that the memorial day will be used to "silence criticism of Israel".

The Queen, Prince Philip and Tony Blair will represent the nation at Thursday's Holocaust Memorial Day national event at Westminster Hall, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

More than 600 Holocaust survivors together with British soldiers who helped liberate the camps will attend.

Iqbal Sacranie, the secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain, says it will not attend because the event did not include what it described as continuing human rights abuses and genocide in the occupied territories of Palestine.

Every year the MCB has a new excuse to boycott this event...

Pro-Israel Rally Crashed In Sweden

Protestors gathered to support Israel were pelted with eggs, bottles and tear gas grenades, then dispersed by police.

A pro-Israel rally in Malmo, Sweden was torn apart Sunday by pro-Palestinian residents who arrived on the scene with eggs, bottles, and tear gas grenades which they threw at Israel's supporters. Police dispersed the entire crowd.

Seven hundred people took part in the rally in support of Israel, which was held at the city's main square. It was organized by Malmo's Jewish community and Sweden's Democratic Party.

Protestors carried signs that said "Stop eight years of Qassams" and "Peace for children in Israel and Gaza". The organizers received a police permit for the demonstration.
However, a number of pro-Palestinian protesters who did not have a permit to demonstrate took to the streets in retaliation to the approved rally. They were not dispersed by police despite lacking a permit.

"At some point, about a half an hour after the protest began, pro-Palestinian protestors began to throw eggs, bottles, and even tear gas grenades", Elad Meier, a Bnei Akiva and Jewish Agency envoy to Sweden, recounted.

Meier added that the lawless protestors disconnected the speakers brought to the square by the Jewish community while its leader was speaking. The act brought the pro-Israel rally to an end, as others could not speak.
At this point, Meier said, police stepped in and asked the unruly protestors to leave. Officers then proceeded to clear the square of all present, including those who had received permission to demonstrate.

The Jewish community in Malmo was angered by the police's conduct, and its president has lodged an official complaint stating that only those who had protested without permit should have been dispersed.

Jewish Man Stabbed For Wearing Star Of David

Paris: A Jewish man was stabbed four times in a paris suburb
in an anti-Semitic attack, officials said Friday,
as the Israeli offensive in Gaza continued to stoke tension in France.

The 24-year-old man was beaten up late Thursday by two robbers who wanted to steal his car and, after they discovered he was Jewish, pulled out a knife and stabbed him, in the latest in a spate of such attacks.

"After noticing he was wearing a Jewish religious symbol, the aggressors made anti-Semitic threats and stabbed him four times with a knife," the Interior Minister said in a statement.

The man suffered minor wounds from the attack in Fontenay-sous-Bois, southwest of Paris, according to the police sources.

The Interior Minister condemned the assault and vowed: "Everything will be done to arrest the perpetrators. All acts of racism and anti-Semitism ar contrary to the values of the republic."

Home to Europe's biggest Muslim and Jewish populations, France has recorded scores of anti-Semitic incidents since Israel launched its Gaza offensive late last month, drawing appeals for calm from politicians and religious leaders.

Three synagogues have been fire-bombed in the past two weeks and vandals have daubed anti-Israeli graffiti on at least two more.

Vandals wrote "Israel Nazi" and other graffiti overnight near a kosher restaurant in the southern city of Toulouse where a synagogue was attacked two weeks ago.

President Nicolas Sarkozy has vowed "zero tolerance" for hate violence and warned against attempts to import the Arab-Israeli conflict in Gaza.

But as reports of violence continue, the Jewish central Consistoire, the umbrella representative of religious institutions, called on France to take action to end anti-Semitic attacks, saying 66 incidents had been recorded over the past three weeks.

"Are we waiting for the irreparable to happen before we act?" asked the top Jewish body.

Muslim members of the Jewish-Muslim Frendship Association resigned on Friday after accusing their Jewish counterparts of remaining silent in the face of Israeli "war crimes" in Gaza, said co-president Djelloul Seddiki.

"All of the Muslim members left on Thursday," he said, confirming that those leaving included the head of the Paris Grand Mosque, Dalil Boubakeur.

"We aren't talking to each other anymore," confirmed rabbi Michel Serfaty.
But 15 other anti-racism organisations banded together and issued an appeal for French residents of all faiths to "live together" and to "oppose hate".

Ramming a car into the gates of a synagogue or attacking north Aftican students is not the way to help Palestinians or Israelis live together", the authors of the appeal said.

Around 600,000 Jews live in France.

Osama bin Laden Calls For Jihad Against Israel

Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has called for Jihad over the Israeli offensive in Gaza in a new 22-minute audio that appeared on Islamist websites on Wednesday, the US-based IntelCenter monitoring service reported.

The authenticity of the tape could not immediately be verified.
"God has bestowen us with the patience to continue the path of Jihad for another seven years, and seven and seven years," bin Laden said in the tape that was dated in the current Islamic month.

Bin Laden also condemns Arab governments for preventing their people from action to "liberate Palestine". The al-Qaeda chief also discussed outgoing US President George W Bush's administration and president-elect Barack Obama.

The tape was titled "A Call for Jihad to Stop the Aggression against Gaza". "The question is , can America continue its war with us for several more decades to come?

Reports and evidence would suggest otherwise," he said.

The Palestinian death toll from the 19-day-old Israeli offensive against the Islamist Hamas movement in Gaza has risen to about 1,000. Israel says 13 Israelis have been killed.

The Saudi-born terrorist said the global financial crisis had exposed the waning influence of the United States in world affairs and would in turn weaken its ally Israel.

More than 60 messages have been broadcast by bin Laden, his second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahri and their allies since the Sept. 11 attacks in 2001.

Last week Zawahri, in an Internet message, called on Muslims to strike Western and Israeli targets around the world over Israel's Gaza raids.

German cops aids Jew-hating Muslim mob, removes flag of Israel from window.

Here is the posting from Muqata:

1:16 AM Received from Muqata Blog Reader in Germany, Sebastian M.

"Today, 10,000 people demonstrated against Israel here in my hometown Duisburg (Germany) and to express their solidarity with Hamas. So, my girlfriend and me put two Israel flags out of the windows of our flat in the 3rd floor. During the demonstration which went through our street the police broke into our flat and removed the flag of Israel. The statement of the police was to de-escalate the situation, because many youth demonstrators were on the brink of breaking into our apartment house. Before this they threw snowballs, knifes and stones against our windows and the complete building. We both were standing on the other side of the street and were shocked by seeing a police officer standing in our bedroom and opening the window to get the flag. The picture illustrate this situation. The police acquiesced in the demands of the mob."
